yeah its weird without it, but i liked it without it on also, is there a way to turn it off?

do you have the wacom drivers? if you don't, the tablet will be acting like a mouse
when you put the pen on the tablet, it should jump to that point on the screen, not start from there like a mouse, if that makes any sense. in photoshop, use the brush panel (F5) to set things like opacity or width to pick up the pressure from the pen. but make sure you have wacom's drivers.
