It's amazing how much faster you can lay down an idea with a few custom brushes. Thanks.

the mountain peak shouldn't overlap with the butterfly- it ruins the composition. Otherwise than that, it's an amazing result for 20 minutes of work! :D

When the elements "kiss" it's usually considered a bad thing, these only overlap..I think it draws the eye away from the dark reeds making for a less happy but rather an imposing feeling.. but it's not what I think that matters. Thank you Kabewu.

you're right, 'kissing' would be far worse XD and true- it does draw the eye, but in my opinion rather forcibly. ahhhh, it just keeps bugging me! maybe the moutain's too blured? Looks a bit like an ice-cream. Greyish one at that o.0
Still, impressive sketch.

Nice Helix, good to see you and your work!
(The mountain is too blurry in my opinion too, I'd like to see some forground enunciated.
Looking at it, I feel like I'm hiding in a thicket or stuck in a shaded hole and the butterflies are free.
This is a nice piece from you, very peacefull!
How's school.

Thanks Andrew, school is going well, not nearly as educational as I'd like it to be - but I'm studying things on the side too [film and a hodgepodge of visual effects and combining my animation studies with film], so the more free time I have the more I can get done. The 3D work is growing on me - I just find myself doing too much 3D and then when I paint everything is too 'structured', so I've been trying to balance the technical and the purely creative stuff. I bought two books from Ballistic Publishing, to help me on my way, verrry expensive but I suppose worth their weight - trying to gleam some tidbits of info from them until I can order more. :)

I'm on a 2 month vacation now, and there are projects galore for me to finish! Exciting!

I hope everything's well your side - I've been keeping an eye on DSG, I really should commit to painting more here, it helps to get these quickies in daily.
