The composition is great, that is what I definately like about this one. You have put the horse to the right side and it running to the left and its head is turned right, it really creates a sense of panic and confusion. First I thought the horse was running towards an icy wall of some kind, but then I saw they were trees, an icy wall helps with the idea of panic, the horse is being stopped in his flight. I also wonder if his front legs would have been visible from this angle.

And I'd say the snow looks just like snow should, bright and low on contrast.
