To me, art is all about storytelling. If I spend the afternoon on something, I'd rather do 10 panels of a comic than one big painting. So I'm kind of going after a faster style.
Not to say I don't love the super detailed stuff either. It's just not what I'm good at. I'll never be a world class portrait artist, or a matte painter, or anything like that. That's what you guys are good at. When I draw "big boy" art, I'm just trying to learn things to apply to the simpler stuff.
And I don't mean to say one way is better than the other, I'm just explaining why I draw what I draw.
And that reminds me, I should really get started on that side project I've been thinking about.
oh oh wait dude, when I said 'big boy' I didn't mean it as an offence, becuase I can see someone taking that up as cartooning/doing panels is being childish or not advanced, which it's not, I could never do what you do - my story telling ability is zilch.
