Probably about 3 hours, acrylic on wood. Real paint is a huge change.

thanks. I wanted to try it out, and I had some cheap paints i'd never used.
what's the cheapest I can expect to try oils for? i have a pretty small apt too, aren't the vapors gonna be an issue?

acrylic is nice though. i mean if you want to step it up without moving to oils, cause of one, the mess, two the vapors, and three oils take weeks to dry, i would move to gouche'. It's pronounced goo-wah-ssh. the color pigments are real nice and have punch. there a bit more expensive than acrylic. If you decide to use it, do so on illustration board.
