Wow, this is good man, I really like the atmosphere, peacefull, and your use of color. the quality contrast between the barn and the forest and the sky. I think you did a very good job in how you make the sun come through the trees. It has a very convincing reality and nostalgea in the simpleness and modesty, and the same time very recognizable you. how long did it take to make this?

This is astounding! =D

You've nailed this one Rubbin, It's amazingly rendered, the detail as always is great and the lighting is top notch, the darkness of the barn interior is a bit strong (solid black?) - but otherwise this is really good!!

I like it a lot rubbin, you did a really good job of puting an even ammount of detail throughout the whole piece, great work.

Good job there rubbin!

A couple of things that I noticed: Theres not much drop shadows near the barn (or a darker and lighter side, plus some shading from the trees maybe?)
and you can add more color on the inside of the barn: add color to the shadows and/or add a fading effect to the ground that reaches into the barn (like you did on the car)

Well done on the trees and the light that's shining between them! =)

Thanks guys!

This was definitely the most fun I had with a sketch, ever. Right from the start everything I did just seemed to work right and fall in place. I don't remember there being any part that I was unhappy with and had to do over. I wish I had more days like that! This one took me about 4 hours in PS.

Brewin, I agree that the shading on the barn is not quite right. You can't really make out the corner that separates the side from the front. I was going for a kind of overcast day lighting effect where the light seems to come from everywhere without really noticable shadows, then I went a little overboard with the sunlight through the trees.

Helix, yes the black is really close to solid black. I didn't start out that way. I used a curve adjustment layer on top to tweak the colour a bit which makes the blacks a bit blacker (similar to adjusting levels). I was too close to solid black to begin with. Thanks for pointing that out, its something that I will have to keep in mind in future.

Very quaint, frame it and give it to your grand ma! :)
Rustic and peacefull...

If you were doing it for me, I'd ask for more decay, abandonment and over growth.
Specificly I'm wondering about the smooth edged broken boards, where's the rot?

Where's the ENTROPY? I love that word... Entropy is everywhere.
