I went a bit crazy with the flames. And, um... there is a rock. You just can't see it.

..want some wildly imaginative C&C?

here we go, I'm a hypocrite, but hear me out.
never use black as the base of your skecth,
unless your going to make it line-art, if black is
easier to work with, try using layers - then when you have the basic
line art you feel comfortable with, shade on a different layer, delete the line art
and then define the shaded layer, this gives your image more depth and clarity eliminating
those black lines - like I said, I'm a lazy hypocrite, so my work differs.

to blend colors, either go with a low opacity and medium flow then manually work in the colors by constantly selecting neighboring colors ( to make this quick you can use ALT+PEN RIGHTCLICK ) or the lazy man's way is to use the smudge tool on about 10 to 30 percent and smooth in the colors.

(dammit my spell check is on American spelling! ARGH!!)

your image is cool dude, it just needs a bit of polishing, for instance the flames,
you have the right idea in mind, you used red, off orange and yellow - but you should take your brush and play around with size and opacity (bracket keys [ and ] for quick size changes) then fiddle with the range of color, so when you have your dark base of almost blood red, you go in with orange softly and define it with a really light yellow - but you can really experiment and find what works for you when it comes to VFX.

I know your new to your tablet and PS, I don't know in which order, but if you need any tips/shortcuts, general stuff, throw a PM at me.

..I blame this on too much coffee.

Haha, thanks, I'm new to both PS and my tablet. I'm pretty lazy too, and haven't really messed around with different brushes and tricks, but I'll take any advice I can get. And thanks as well for pointing me towards those tutorials, they're really helping me out.
