you changed the angle of the light rays..

It looks good, the highlighting could be a bit stronger seeing as it's metal, but I don't know what look you were going for.
also, shouldn't the sub be darker nearer to it's underbelly becuase of the light coming from above?

i was thinking that ill make the bottom side of the ship lighter then side because of the reflection
but now i see that theres nothing for the light to reflect from (the bottom of the sea isnt close)
so i guess youre right

youre right about the highlights too

thanks for the tips helix (and the 10er on the previous version)

actually, if you think about it, for those rays to be visible, it could go either way, because of how light travels through water, he specular shine of the water itself could be illuminating the entire vessel...*ponder ponder*...like I said, it could go wither way, so fundamentally, this image isn't wrong.
