For this competition I decided to change up my medium a bit and create a image that was fairly abstracted but pushed just as strong of a message by using color and movement.

Here is a alternate version

Enjoy.

The render time wasn't too bad.
Rendered in Maya, post in PS
7 secs for color pass
and 5:23 for Ambient Occlusion

Thanks for the feedback.

Lucky nuclear bombs don't look this cool or we'd be dropping them all the time.

What's Maya? This looks like you massively filtered a drawing. How did you generate the image?
Is this done via a 3D modeling? It's making me think of The Matrix the way the pieces are all flying around.

Forget about filters man, they are a distraction. The only useful ones are the color adjustment ones.

Maya is a 3D modelling, rigging and animation program. ( it can do much much more! )
It's an expensive piece of kit that's very useful and I love it to bits.. ( Kudos to Alias! )
The image was most probably generated by using an 'explode' function on the Taurus and Sphere.

I used primitive poly shapes and shaped them into the blast. The image was rendered in Maya and composited in PS.

Maya is awesome. I been taking gaming classes with maya. I once hoped to work with vidoe games but alas I am not talented enough. This piece makes me want to work in maya again so thank you.
